Kettle Valley Steakhouse Returns to Happy Valley
After a five-year hiatus, Big White’s legendary Kettle Valley Steakhouse is back — reopening this December inside the Happy Valley Day Lodge. Guests can expect the same classic steakhouse warmth paired with a refreshed dining experience, including a larger kitchen, an expanded lounge, and upgraded restrooms.
The relaunch brings fresh energy to Happy Valley, now also home to the Moose Lounge, a new après-ski concept that blends rustic comfort with a lively alpine vibe.
The Fat Marmot Makes Its Debut
Over at The Inn at Big White, a bold new chapter begins with the opening of The Fat Marmot, a pub-style noodle bar serving hearty dishes with a local twist.
Outside, a striking 900-square-foot mural now transforms the Inn’s exterior, making it one of the most eye-catching landmarks in the Village.
Streamlined Lift Ticket & Pass Support
Say goodbye to long detours when you forget your pass. Two new support hubs — at Black Forest and Ridge Rocket — will handle lost, damaged, or forgotten tickets on the spot. These locations will also make it easier to get help with pre-purchased products and answer passholder questions faster than ever.
New Slopeside Arcade
Opening in early November beneath Snow Ghost (under Fourth Ace), the Slopeside Arcade is Big White’s newest indoor attraction — perfect for après-ski fun. It will feature 27 of the best new and classic arcade games, from retro favourites to modern hits.
Slush Cup Returns
Back by popular demand, Slush Cup returns April 4–5 to close the season with a splash — literally. Expect costumes, chaos, and pond-skimming galore as riders take on the mountain’s funniest and most unpredictable event of the year.
Lift Upgrades and Reliability Boosts
A $3 million investment keeps Big White’s lift network among the most dependable in Western Canada.
- Black Forest receives a new auxiliary drive for enhanced reliability.
- Falcon gets a new haul rope.
- Ridge Rocket begins a full electrical modernization.
- Lift tower repainting continues across multiple lines.
Village Enhancements
The Village keeps evolving to make your stay even smoother.
- A new daycare joins the Kids’ Centre for added family convenience.
- Whitefoot Lodge welcomes a redesigned retail hub, The Rider.
- Happy Valley’s Kettle Valley Steakhouse reopens with expanded amenities, anchoring a refreshed dining and après-ski scene.
Infrastructure and Parking Improvements
Big White has upgraded power systems on the Ridge Rocket and Snow Ghost lifts to support future tech improvements. Plus, 200 new parking spaces are being added in Black Forest by repurposing fill from the upper lot — a welcome change for peak weekends.
Grooming and Equipment Investments
Keeping those famous Okanagan powder runs in prime condition, Big White added:
- A $700,000 winch cat for enhanced grooming precision
- A $600,000 WINTERSTEIGER tuning machine for faster, higher-quality ski and board maintenance
- A $30,000 calibration machine in Rentals, allowing guests to easily rent gear using their own boots
- A $20,000 skate-sharpening machine in the Happy Valley Skate Shop for quicker, sharper service
